The Tippecanoe County Relay for Life will be held Friday night through Saturday morning at the track at Jefferson High School. This is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. It is also a way to honor survivors and pay tribute those who have lost their battle.
The American Cancer Society is looking for people in Tippecanoe County to help researchers understand how genetics, the environment, and lifestyle can cause or prevent cancer. It is called the CPS-3 study. It will involve about 300 people locally and 500,000 nationwide. Anyone who is between 30 and 65 years old, who has never been diagnosed with cancer, and is willing to make a long-term commitment to the study can sign up from 6:30p.m. - 10:30p.m. at the Relay For Life. At enrollment, you will need to complete a brief survey, provide a waist measurement and give a small blood sample.
